An Update on Gateway Children’s Book Festival
As COVID-19 continues to spread globally, with far reaching disruptions to day-to-day life, The Novel Neighbor has been closely monitoring the situation and how this might affect Gateway Children’s Book Festival. While Missouri is not yet in a state of emergency, the states where many of our authors reside are.
It is with the safety and well-being of our community in mind that we have made the difficult decision to cancel this year’s Festival. Our main concern must be for the health and well-being of our attendees, our author and illustrator guests, and our community at large. While Missouri is not officially calling for events and large gatherings to be canceled, many have been and we do not know what the next few weeks will entail.
Thank you for your understanding. All tickets will be refunded within the next week. Next year’s Festival will be held on Saturday, April 10th, 2021, and we look forward to welcoming you all at that time. We will keep you apprised of future events that may be of interest, and hope to see you all soon. In the meantime, please follow the guidelines that have been put forward to protect your safety and the safety of your loved ones.
